Built in the 1950's originally as a bungalow.

We have extended upwards on the original footprint.   The build was done by the homeowner in partnership with a builder and various local trades people.

The environmental features were largely installed by the homeowner with the builder and tradespeople covering the more standard building work.

Our house has the following features

INSTALLED BY ME

 ·         Roof insulation

·         External insulation and render

·         Underfloor insulation

·         Solar water heating

·         Douglas fir timber windows (seasoned the timber myself then had them made up)

·         Timber frame garage

·         Reclaimed kitchen (bought including all appliances for £500) though time input to install etc took a little longer than normal

INSTALLED BY OTHERS

  • solar panels (by T4 Sustainability)
  • linoleum flooring (the linseed stuff)

I did most of the work  in partnership with a builder so I had access to expertise and went on a course for installing the external insulation (I'm qualified if not very good at it!)
