Overview

28 Penn Street is a stone cottage over 200 years old with 2-3ft deep external walls and a south facing aspect. (see photos) The house was originally a row of 3 one up one down cottages. The present owner has been there since October 2024.

Insulation

Before the installation of solar panels and an air source heat pump in September 2025 the house had 300mm of insulation in the roof (May 2025) and double-glazed windows in 2016 (6 replaced in June 2025). The floors are wooden on the first floor and ground floor (?)

As part of the upgrade reflective material has been attached to all the radiators on the external walls.
